Chocolate Karpatka
This month's @bucketlistbakeclub prompt is Karpatka, a Polish dessert inspired by the Carpathian Mountains. They’re named after these mountains because the craggily top dusted with powdered sugar resembles snow-capped mountains. So I really leaned into this mountain idea and I made a chocolate version with a chocolate crème mousseline filling, topped with matcha and marzipan houses.
I had trouble with the mousseline because my butter was too cold, making it lumpy but it still tasted great!
This was a fun prompt that taught me about a new dessert, and I discovered how enjoyable marzipan can be. More marzipan creations might be on the horizon!
